Rock painting of Panagia Vlachernitissa

An impressive rock painting of Panagia Vlachernitissa in Great Prespa.

On the opposite lakeshore of Psarades and between fragmentary ruins of a small hermitage in a shallow niche on the rock, the icon of Virgin Mary is preserved belonging to the type of Vlachernitissa (prayer’s position, holding Jesus in her embrace on busts in glory). The inscription above the niche says that the icon constitutes a prayer of Armenka and her spouse in 1456.
